How to order PCB assembly?

After the PCB is manufactured, the components need to be mounted on the PCB board for normal operation, and this process is PCB assembly. So how do you order professional PCB assembly services? This guide will walk you through the process:
Send Gerber files
You will need to provide the Gerber file of the PCB design to fabricate the bare board. Check that all layers are named correctly and have the correct scaling settings. Common file formats for Gerber include: RS-274X, HPGL, DXF.
Send BOM and Assembly Drawings
Construct a detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) listing all components with their designations, part numbers, manufacturers/suppliers, and quantities. Prepare assembly drawings showing component placement and orientation.
Specify Assembly Requirements
Indicate the need for surface mount vs. through-hole components. Mention if you need components pre-ordered by value/type. If using SMD, specify the stencil/solder paste required. Select finishing options such as edge cutting, drilling, crimping. If there are more requirements please mention them at this time
Select assembly level
Includes: kitting (supplied components), placement only, reflow, complete assembly and test.
Get a Quote
Once we receive your design documents and requirements, we will estimate a quote based on the customer's needs. The price will affect the cost based on the number of components, level of assembly, volume, turnaround time, and other factors. The whole process requires a few hours of patience from the customer.
Check quotes and contract details
Check and confirm the validity of the quote, full breakdown of costs, delivery times, payment terms, packaging and transportation, warranty terms, design for manufacturability feedback, etc., and whether or not a non-disclosure agreement has been signed.
Sourcing or supplying components
You can ask POE to procure components on your behalf, or you can supply them in advance as a kit to us.
Review and Manufacturing
We will carry out a DFM check to ensure that there are no problems, and once this has been passed, manufacture/assembly will continue.
Inspection and testing of final assembly
Receive assembled boards and functionally test to specification. If required, request rework and sign off after acceptance.
