In the production of PCB boards, the copper layer ends up with a smooth and unprotected surface, either additively or subtractively. The coating is called a soldermask and the material used is soldermask paint.

The color of the PCB is usually determined by the color of the soldermask, not by the color of the board itself. Common colors are red, yellow, green, blue, black and so on. Why green ink will be used more widely?

3. More environmentally friendly
Blue PCB ink and black PCB ink are more conductive because they are doped with cobalt and carbon. Therefore, there may be a risk of short circuit. Green PCB is more environmentally friendly and does not release toxic gases when used in high temperature environments.
